On the evening of Saturday, August 3rd, the Quad Cities Astronomical is holding their annual Meteor Shower Party at Pleasant Valley Junior High School.
The event is free and family friendly of course. Guests are invited to bring their lawn chairs and munchies and set back to watch the Persiod meteor shower. The QCAS will have a few telescopes for viewing, a few displays and a raffle for a new beginners telescope.
Raffle tickets will be $2 each or 3 for $5. The drawing will be held around 10:30pm. No need to be present to win, but if not present, the winner will need to pick up their prize in Davenport.
The event will start shortly after sunset, and guests can stay as late as midnight… or possibly later! Last year, there were about 350 guests in attendance.
Updated information can be found here, on the Quad Cities Astronomical Society web site, www.QCAstro.org or the club Facebook page called QCAS.
See ya there!
